Useful Rooted Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight Apps

I have yet to find a list of compatible apps for a rooted Nook with Glowlight, it appears that not all apps work and for others you need an older version as the installed version of Android is 2.1

I’ve rooted my Nook with Glownooter which came with a couple of apps but I’ve installed the following as well:

  • Opera Mobile  – Internet browser (mini doesn’t seem to work)
  • gReader – RSS/News feed
  • Goodreads – Link your Goodsreads.com account to easily update shelfs

All of these are available on the Play Store, you need the Market Search app to be able to find the apps as the Play Market app that comes with Glownooter has a broken search function.

Another interesting app is the No Refresh application, that switches your Nook to use some kind of 1-bit mode so it doesn’t need to refresh as often (no flickering when scrolling), however I can’t quite get it to work the way I want. When I turned it on the Nook kept refreshing anyway so I’m not sure what’s up with that.

What apps do you use on your Nook and what purpose do they serve? Let me know in the comments down below and I’ll update this list
